How We Pick Gear
How Duty Kit Picker selects, sorts, categorizes, and discloses gear recommendations.
Short version
Duty Kit Picker is a curated gear-discovery site, not an open marketplace. Products are organized by role, category, price tier, use case, and guide placement.
Gear is tagged to roles so users are not forced through unrelated categories.
Good recommendations explain who the item is for and who should skip it.
Users should verify rules before buying anything for duty, academy, or work use.
What “Recommended” means
Recommended sorting can consider priority, product rating, price tier, role fit, and whether the product has an active retailer link. It is not a guarantee that an item is best for every user.
What “Price Tier” means
Price tier is a broad filter: budget, standard, or premium. It is meant to help users shop within a realistic spending range.
What “Value” means
Value is a practical comparison of usefulness, price, rating, and category fit. It is not a scientific score.
Affiliate links
Some retailer buttons are affiliate links. Affiliate compensation does not remove the need for practical fit, clear limitations, and policy reminders.
